How grows the Kid
For my daughter,
As a kid I have seen
Sweet, soft and slow,
But as time slips on and on
Days rolled into months and years
A score and ten and more
These days I experience
And observe you gradually grow
Into a lovely and charming damsel
In the schools and colleges you go
Subsequently thereafter
I saw you off to your in-laws abode
With your handsome groom ever
And within a very short time
You flew away to USA
Where you stayed and travelled
A large expanse of the States
With your hubby dear
And a new born baby there
Now that I find that kid transformed
An excellent home maker
A busy bee in her household chores
And nursing her four and half year kid
Dancing and shouting all through the night and day
Your mom and I feel elevated and excited
To find you busy and happy
With your kid and the man you married
Time is stealing away
Everything will go away
We will also pass away
But we wish you to leave
Your footprints in the sand of time
With perpetual glory and gorgeous way.
